Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the types of log styles?

All of our log furniture is built from renewable American harvested lodge pole pine, however the way we process the wood varies depending on the style you select. Below is a quick guide to the differences to help you choose which type will work best for your home.

 Montana Skip Peel:

The perfect choice for a rustic log look with slight bark accents and would accent any type of home. This is the most popular style for those wanting a true rustic log look while still having control over color and finish.
Each log is skip-peeled by hand, leaving part of the inner cambium layer intact while exposing most of the inner layer of the pine. This creates the perfect pine “canvas” for you to add your own finish or let our Amish artisans finish your piece in a variety of stain colors to match your home decor.

 Glacier Rustic:

This collection is only available pre-finished using our eight-step finishing process which utilizes premium grade stain and a clear lacquer for a durable, low maintenance finish. Our skilled craftsmen remove the bark and leave only the inner cambium layer to create dark and rich tones.

 Meadows Square-Cut:

This collection features square-sawn pine for both frames and trim pieces which creates a modern look to a rustic lifestyle. Each log is hand-sawn, and each piece of furniture is available ready-to-finish or let our Amish artisans finish your piece in a variety of stain colors to match your home decor.
